Project Manager
Brief Job Description
The Project Manager has the ultimate responsibility for all assigned accounts. Additionally, the Project Manager accepts responsibility and accountability for the execution of all project contracts as assigned. These tasks are to be carried out consistent with contract requirements and good business practices.Duties / Responsibilities:
Be responsible and accountable for safety and safety leader on all managed projects.Ensure that jobsite safety is a priority and conduct site safety audits at least monthly.Take ownership and responsibility for assigned accounts.Consistent contact and communication including profit/loss activity with all appropriate project team.Evaluate bidding and negotiating opportunities of assigned accounts.Review, evaluate and determine appropriate vendors, sub-contractors and proposals.Escalate any significant problems encountered, along with recommended solutions.Project set-up including budgeting, scheduling and documentation.Ongoing monitor of project productivityPrepare Change Order Quotations.Maintain positive cash flow position through appropriate billings and collections.Visit project sites routinely and attend all project meetings.Manage the project Close-Out routine including: punch list, sign off, final billing, retainage, warranty, returns, close P.O.’s, record, documents.Actively pursue and generate business opportunities and cultivate relationships with both existing and potential customers, while ensuring complete customer satisfaction.QUALIFICATIONSEducation/Experience:
Minimum 5 years of relevant electrical industry experience is essential for this roleBachelor or Associate Degree in a relevant discipline or journeyman apprenticeship is useful.Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Incumbent must be able to express ideas/information effectively to people both inside and outside the organization. Effectively write routine reports and correspondence. Fluent use of the English language is essential. The ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, and metric conversions. In addition, incumbent must have the ability to perform critical math computations involving formulas.The ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. The ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram and or schedule form.Customer Service- Demonstrates proper concern for individuals within, as well as outside, the organization. Effectively respond to the needs, interest and or problems of that individual.Technical Expertise- Stay abreast of new regulations, policies, and procedures in order to better able oneself to impart knowledge and or train others.Teamwork- Work effectively as a member of a team that develops and maintains intra / inter business unit work relationships. Be able to enhance mutual cooperation and contribute to the achievement of joint objectives.Build strong working relationships with the Unionized work force.Commitment to Quality- Adhere to the principles of total quality in all aspects of work performance. Conform to the highest professional standard in achieving results in a timely cost-effective manner.Work Ethic- The incumbent must be a self-starter, work with little direction, with the ability to work on multiple projects at a time and be well organized. Must have excellent computer skill to include MS Office, ERP, accounting software and MS Project (or equivalent). Capable user of Primavera or the project schedule software in use. Capable of reading, interpreting and understanding all contract documents, plans, specs.Solid knowledge of national electric code, accounting, job cost and change orders and scheduling.Working knowledge of trade terms, material, methods, codes, contracts, and specification language as well as bidding methods.While this position is primarily internally based, candidates must be able to maneuver and manipulate in a construction atmosphere without jeopardizing their safety or that of others.
